Company Background

Our client is a global reinsurance company focused on building a next-generation reinsurance platform to support the evolving needs of its business and customers. As part of a long-term modernization effort, the company was transitioning from a legacy monolithic system to a distributed architecture built on .NET Core, Node.js, Angular, and React—all hosted in an Azure cloud environment.

The Challenge

Years into their rebuild, the client still hadn’t delivered a first release of their new reinsurance platform. The globally distributed nature of the development team, paired with multiple regional stakeholders, led to misaligned priorities, communication breakdowns, and a lack of clarity around product features and direction.

Despite significant investment, the program was off track. The organization needed an outside perspective to diagnose roadblocks, improve communication, and refocus the rebuild effort with clear goals and technical alignment—while continuing to maintain their legacy monolith during the transition.

The Solution

Stride engaged with the client mid-flight, conducting a two-week assessment to identify areas of improvement across Agile delivery, development practices, and organizational alignment.

Led by two Principal Consultants and a Senior Product Manager, the Stride team observed Agile ceremonies, conducted one-on-one interviews, reviewed key artifacts and metrics, and facilitated an executive alignment meeting. Their focus was on surfacing bottlenecks and unblocking forward momentum across both technical and team dynamics.
